Oooh this looks great Charlotte 😁 I’d be very interested, can’t do end of May but beginning of May is good for me if that suits you and others? X
-
I’d certainly be up for this. (April would, on the whole, suit me better than May)
-
I think it may need to be a Saturday for me – I could do Sat 20 April, Sat 4 May or Sat 18 May. Any good?? Or I could do the Sunday of all those weekends if better, and in that case would bring my 10 year old son with me 🙂 The Museum is open Tues-Sun, 10am-5pm.<div>
I’ll probably do Park and Ride at Askham Bar. Tickets will be available at a later (as yesterday unspecified) date but it opens 22 March so can’t be longer.

I’m interested… I’ll keep an eye on the date you decide on and then confirm 😍

Saturday April 20th
Meetup in York to see Star Carr artefacts.
Star Carr is a world renowned Mesolithic archaeological site just outside Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
A new exhibition at the Yorkshire Museum called ‘After the Ice” tells the story of Yorkshire up to the arrival of the Romans.
Special attention is paid to the story of Star Carr, where people lived over 11,000 years ago.
Bone harpoons, elk antler tools and birch bark rolls – amazingly preserved in peat – are just some of the highlights. An array of animals from the Museum’s natural science collection sit alongside these archaeological gems, against a recreated backdrop of the site of Star Carr, to demonstrate how the Yorkshire landscape looked in the past.
The exhibition opens 22 March and tickets will be available to book ‘soon’.

I’d seen this exhibition was opening and thought it looked great. I would like to come on the 20th April if that is still the plan. Do you have a time slot in mind?
-
Hi Laura. I can only do late afternoon on the 20th now as my Tai Chi class has moved to 10:00-12:00 every other Saturday… and it falls on the 20th! I can do other dates though. Can do 5th, 11th or 19 May?
-
I can do the 11th May. If that’s an option for you and or others we could agree a time so we can book tickets?
-
Sorry for the delay Laura. Yes 11 May still good for me. Shall we aim for mid morning?
